5 SATURDAYS EDUCATION NON-PROFIT APPOINTS LEADERSHIP COUNCIL MEMBER

Group Teaches Agile & Scrum Principles to High School Students

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE…Feb. 17, 2016…COSTA MESA, CALIF….5 Saturdays, an innovative Orange County-based education program focused on opening the door for students to a career in information technology and business, today announced that Tammy Hawkins, an experienced information technology staffing industry executive, has joined its Leadership Council.

Tammy Hawkins, Vice President, Southern California with Optomi, will join other Leadership Council members to provide input on the strategic direction and performance of the 5 Saturdays program. She also will spearhead fundraising and alliance partnership efforts.

Ms. Hawkins, who has been involved in numerous volunteer efforts in Southern California, is passionate about helping efforts that support providing innovative learning platforms to all demographics. “I am honored and humbled to be offered an opportunity to leverage my market knowledge, relationships, and experience to the 5 Saturdays program,” she said. “I can’t think of a more impactful way to bring knowledge to those who are seeking it.”

5 Saturdays Principal Dave Cornelius, DM, said, “We are pleased to have Tammy join our Leadership Council. Her significant experience in IT staffing and services, as well as her passion about science and technology and giving back to the community make Tammy a perfect fit. Most recently, she has been involved with Women in Technology International’s Orange County chapter and SoTeC, and we are lucky to have her energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge as we embark on our second year of student workshops focused on computer programming and Agile and Scrum principles in Orange and Los Angeles counties.”
